When I first came to Images in April of 2005, my hair was halfway down my back.  It had been that long for 27 years.  Never wanting to cut it, for fear of altering my person, was a misconception.  What is inside of you makes you what you are.

For years my parents, relatives, and others tried to get me to cut my hair.  I didn't want any part of it.  When Donya Gunn asked me to cut my hair, without much hesitation, I asked, "How short?"  She had a surprised look on her face as I had in my heart.  I guess being asked by someone that I didn't know - someone that didn't know me, triggered some sense in me.  It's only hair.  I can grow it back if I don't like it.  Now when I go to an audition or shoot, I'm prepared to let them do or tell me to do anything they please with my hair - from shave it, Mohawk it, color it, or put a wig on it.

This experience was very liberating.  The moment I set my hair free, it set me free.  Besides, I donated it to "Locks of Love" so it might set a young cancer patient free from the preoccupation of not having hair so he can get on with other important matters in his life.

I have done many things with Images since then.  Things I would have never been able to do before without their guidance.  I would not trade the time I have been with Images for anything.  My only regret through this whole journey is that I hadn't done it sooner.

Trust these people and their judgment.  They know what they are doing.  My life is the best it has ever been.  I owe it all to the Images staff.  It's time to grow up and grow outward.  Don't deprive yourself of a greater life.  You owe it to yourself and the world.  Don't be stubborn.  Be smart.  Be strong.  Be free.  Be successful.

Sincerely,

Eric A Gavillet
